The sights of the Tasmainia, Australia

Hobart, Tasmania

Hobart is the second oldest capital city in Australia, located in Australia's furthest southern state of Tasmania. The townspeople of Hobart are known as Hobartians. The 2006 census declares the population of Hobart as 217,525.

Tasmania differs to the rest of Australia through the geographical layout of the state with the island of Tasmania having over 1,000 mountain peaks and over 40% of the island is national park territory. The increase of multiculturalism in Hobart has lead to an expansion of the town, offering a newer, more modern living environment in the newer suburbs of Hobart.

Location

Tasmania is located 240 kilometres Southeast of the mainland of Australia with Hobart being situated in Tasmania's Southeast. Hobart is found along the picturesque Derwent River and with a scenic mountain view of Mount Wellington.
